Timely Money

There is this totally awesome youth conference that's going to be going on Nov. 6~8 at Elim Gospel Church. It's called Saturate and most of the people that I've talked to who went to it last year really liked it and got a bunch out of it. I wanted to go really bad but had accepted the fact that I wouldn't have enough money when it came time to pay for it. The cost for me would have been $25.

At chapel last week, I was up in the sound booth. I didn't really listen to the sermon much at all but I did hear him talk about Saturate and he encouraged everyone to go. Still wanting to go and knowing that I wouldn't have the money, I prayed and told God that if He wanted me to go, then He would have to provide a way because there was just no way that I was going to be able to pull it off. That was the end of it; it was a span of two minutes max. and then I went back to doing sound stuff.

I got off the bus that day and got the mail like I do almost every day. This day there was an envelope addressed to me from a photography place. I figured that they wanted me to get my senior pictures taken with them but as I looked closer, the envelope was too small for any propaganda of that sort. I slowly opened the envelope and pulled out what appeared to be a check. It was made out to me for $25.

At first, I didn't get it. I couldn't figure out why they were sending me money. A million thoughts went through my head. It was a "check" to spend at their studio when I went to get my pictures taken. It was a rebate for something I had bought. They were paying me off for something I knew. This was the crazy stuff that I was thinking until I looked at the memo on the check and it said "donation." This must have been from God. I quickly prayed and asked God if this was for real and then I called my best friend. She got all excited too and said her predictable but still encouraging, "That's awesome, Katy!"

I am now signed up to go to my first youth conference, Saturate. I am so excited!!! I can't wait to see what God has in store for me. PRAISE GOD!!!

Amen.
